iPad2 May Contain New High Resolution 2048x1536 Screen

Just to throw some fuel into the iPad2 rumor fire, a recent discovery was made by a ever so curious developer. One the biggest rumors going around is that iPad2 will be receiving a higher resolution display.

Within each iOS application, is a container of graphics for each support i-device. A set for iPod and iPhone 3Gs 480 x 320 resolution, a set with it's resolution doubled to support the iPhone 4 retina display, which is 960 x 640 and a final set of graphics for iPad 1024 x 768.

The developer discovered a set of graphics labelled "iPadx2", with it's resolution double that of the current iPad display at 2048x1536. This was discovered within in Apple's iBooks Version 1.1 app.

If history does repeat itself, just as Apple had doubled the resolution of it's original iPod & iPhone when it released the iPhone 4. Then this discovery could prove to be a affirmation of what's to come.

Since this information has gone public Apple has removed the extra set of images within iBooks and released a version update. This is a strategic move by Apple to keep the silence of any new upcoming products.

Berkley Students Invent New Laser

Students at Berkley developed world's first room temperature operated semiconductor plasmon nanolaser. Previous spasers sustain lasing at temperatures below -250° C, which enables its use in commercial products.

Semiconductor plasmon nano lasers could be used within computer processors, medical devices and digital storage devices because of it's ability to be focused to precision levels.

Operating at a speed of a 100 times faster than it's electrical relatives... it could potentially be a evolutionary successor to our current CPUs and the blue-ray.

The future is looking speedy.

Meteor shower to shine brightly Monday night, Jan 3rd.

The first meteor shower of 2011 is going to be on display tonight between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. MST. It's going to be a spectacular show with Quadrantids possibly displaying as many as 100 blasts an hour.

This meteor shower is going to be as intense as the Perseids which is active August 9th to 14th.

The Quadrantids Meteor shower has been observed for over 500 years by the Chinese, Japanese and Korean astronomers.

In December 2003, Peter Jenniskens of the NASA Ames Research Center found evidence that Quadrantid meteoroids come from 2003 EH1, an "asteroid" that is probably a piece of a comet that broke apart some 500 years ago.

SMS proliferation expected to hit 7 trillion in 2011

With more and more people carrying cellular phones, the favoured form of communication that's gaining ground seems to be text messaging.

Text Messaging can be done discretely, within meetings, at movie theatres, at places of worship and noisy live events.

Incase a family member gives you a list of groceries to pickup, it's a great reference tool too because they can just text it to you and there's never a need to write it down. It's always with you to look back at later.

2011 is showing no sign of text messaging usage slowing down. That leaves businesses that want to get a message out to customers a great portal.

More and more companies are using a text messaging software like FireText to captivate and communicate with their customers. Places like church, the juice bar, clothing stores, fitness centres, dance clubs & pubs, tire shops. And have gained an avenues of communication to send to event reminders, coupons and new product announcements instantly on a mobile phone that is always carried with the customer.

FireText, available at http://www.firetext.com allows businesses a channel of open communication by using it's tools like Text to Screen, Text to Win, Text Info Broadcast, Bulk Outgoing SMS and Group Texting, Flirt Messaging, Text Song Request for Radio Stations, RSVP for skipping line ups.

FireText also includes social networking features like Tweet to Screen, Facebook Status Updates, Email to Screen to capture and communicate with users beyond the traditional phone call.

Traditional modes of communication will always be there, like phone calls. With so many conveniences of just a simple sms, look out 2011, don't be surprised if text messaging becomes the prominent form of communication.
